Let's Reminisce in 96
The Black
The golf season gets kicked off with the Spring Scramble tournament held on Sunday, May 5th on the Red Course.  Thirteen teams competed in the first tournament of the year, which was played from the blue tees and under good conditions. 

The defending team of Al Falussy, Ray Eklund, Ted Lukew and the famous burglar, Jon Silverberg (the newly elected President), retained their crown as they had also won it in 1995.  Their winning score was 63, shooting eight under par and besting their next pursuers by one stroke.

Second place honors went to the team of Dennis Dowdickan, John Lewis, Steve Meltsner and Tom Regan who came in with a score of 64.  Several teams tie for third place with a score of 65.  The highest scoring team came in with a score of 71.

The MGA Two Man Net Team Tournament was held on Saturday, May 18th and was played on the Red Course.  Eight teams competed for the honor of representing the NPC at the Sectional at St. George Golf and Country Club on Thursday, June 13, 1996.  The team of Jack Burger and Mike Finnegan took first place with a score of 66 (-4).

The Two Man Better ball, was held on the Black Course from the White tees on Saturday, June 22nd.  The teams were formed by choosing a player from the six and under handicap bracket and a player from the seven and over handicap bracket by draw.  Gino Civiello and Pete Gadigian came in first place (-9), Al Falussy and Eddie Rich second (-8) and Steve Meltsner and Cono Mea in third (-7).
 
The NPC Classic was held in July.  One round was played on the Red from the Blue tees an a second round on the Black from the White tees.  In total 42 players signed up but only 20 completed both rounds.  Net positions went to Mickey O, who took first place, Al Falussy second and Gary Mertens third.

The victors from the Club Championship were : Sean Hartman defeated Matt Esposito 4 & 3 in the Championship flight, Ted Lukew defeated R. Eklund in 19 holes for the A flight, Bill Ruth defeated Jeff Slater 1 up for the B flight the winner of the C flight J. Manthos who defeated Ed Rich 6 & 4.

The Fall Scramble was played on October 13th, from the Blue tees on the Black Course and 12 teams competed in this event.  The team of Frank Martinez, Pete Flynn, Ira Kaskel and Jack O' Flynn took first place (-9), Bill Bartell, Ernie Bodo, Tom Regan and Doug Kryjak took second (-8) with Al Falussy, Mike Brice and Jack Burger who also shot 63 (-8).
